Our consumer-facing brands have over 4m subscribers globally between them. The Membership Subscription team is responsible for growing our subscriber base of individually paying members globally, across WSJ, Barron’s, and MarketWatch. Our team manages the end-to-end subscription levers across acquisition, engagement, and retention. The team is also supported by data science, analytics, and paid media teams. We also work closely with customer service, product, technology, finance, legal, and operations.
Role Overview: Dow Jones is seeking a Director of Global Acquisition to run our global acquisition campaigns. Responsible for the planning of our domestic and international acquisition strategy, the role will be focused on acquiring new subscribers for Barron’s, and MarketWatch.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Manage a team responsible for hitting acquisition goals for Barron’s, and MarketWatch.
Develop the end-to-end strategy for our digital acquisition campaigns with a focus on acquiring loyal, profitable, and long-standing subscribers.
Experienced in testing and experimentation in pursuit of driving growth.
Oversee ongoing campaigns, working with internal media teams to ensure campaign goals are met on both the digital and the offline acquisitions fronts- and pivoting strategy when goals are not being met.
Ensure all campaigns are delivered on time, within budget and maintain Dow Jones quality standards at all times.
Ensure media budgets are delivering against business goals. This includes re-evaluating the media mix when business goals are not being met, and understanding effectiveness and profitability of channels.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscapes and new technologies impacting digital marketing and digital distribution platforms (i.e. Facebook, Google, etc.).
Identify new opportunities to drive the business forward – i.e. new markets, emerging digital platforms, potential media partnerships, or uncovering general business efficiencies that increase revenue and profitability.
Manage the subscriber acquisition budget strategy in order to ensure the Offline sales is able to generate high-quality leads and purchasers at the minimum possible cost.
Experience:
6-8 years of relevant digital marketing experience – ideally within a results-driven role.
Understanding digital commerce and response-driven practices are essential.
Experienced in forecasting sale numbers accurately.
Experience working in paid media channels – paid search, social, display and affiliate.
Experience marketing mobile applications through paid media channels is advantageous, but not necessary.
Proven success of running end-to-end marketing performance marketing campaigns that encompass owned, earned and paid media properties.
ROI-driven, digital-centric capabilities with the ability to anticipate media consumption trends and emerging opportunities.
Excellent planning, problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and resolve challenges.
Impeccable time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage projects independently and see them through completion- requiring the need to appropriately prioritize tasks and projects in order to hit deadlines.
