BUILD’s unique program offers students a four-year entrepreneurship experience designed to develop 21st Century Skills and motivate student engagement in school. Starting in 9th grade, BUILD students work with their peers and community mentors to develop business ideas, pitch to funders and launch real businesses. As students journey through high school and continue to grow their businesses, BUILD helps them explore college and career options, and assists students with the college application process. Position Summary:

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition and Benefits Manager, the Talent Associate (TA) will provide exceptional customer service and support for BUILD’s recruiting and talent operations. Through administrative responsibilities such as on-boarding, off-boarding, benefits, HRMS data entry, and managing and maintaining our intranet. The TA will be essential in attracting, retaining and developing a diverse staff.

Position Responsibilities include:

Talent Acquisition 50%

Post job descriptions to job boards and ensure they are appropriately refreshed and monitored.

Manage the portfolio of open positions for the full life-cycle of recruiting. This includes:

Managing the open requisition in TAM

Job postings and passive candidate searches

Track status of applications and be the first point of contact for candidates

Coordinate and schedule all stages of the BUILD interview process from phone screens to team interviews for all open positions

Gathering interview feedback and supporting the hiring manager on hiring decisions

Draft correspondence informing candidates of hiring decisions

Collecting and checking references

Generating offers

Be the power user on The Applicant Manager (TAM), create new accounts, and train hiring managers on its use as needed.

Support collection and analysis of recruitment data and metrics (i.e. source of hire, time to fill position) in order to further optimize hiring processes.

Benefits Management 20%

Support benefits administration including enrolling new employees, responding to questions from staff, terminating benefits, COBRA enrollment and tracking, the liaison between BUILD and our benefit providers, and making any updates throughout the plan year as necessary.

Assisting Sr. Manager of Talent with annual open enrollment logistics.

Monthly audits of benefit enrollments and processing of benefits invoices for accounts payable.

Customer service and support for staff with benefit inquiries.

Talent Operations 30%

Onboarding: In partnership with the Operations team and hiring managers, ensure each new hire is set up in Paycom.

Help manage the onboarding and offboarding process which includes setting up and terminating staff profiles in HRMS

In partnership with the Director of Talent, administer BUILD’s bi-annual performance evaluation process.

Be the power user and main point of contact for HRMS.

Ensuring employee files and records are up to date and accurate in HRMS.

Responding to verification of employment requests

Provide additional human resources administration support including:

Updating and sharing out of Talent owned calendars such as holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries.

Support planning and execution of BUILD events, such as the staff retreat and other regularly scheduled events.

Maintain regular updates to BUILD’s org charts.

Additional support to the Talent Team for special projects, as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or 1+ years experience in a similar role

An interest in BUILD’s work and in joining a fast-paced, growing nonprofit organization

Excellent communicator and multi-tasker who can effectively and efficiently work independently and as part of a team (both virtually and in-person)

Innovative and analytical mindset and will partner with leadership on best practices to improve or enhance existing hiring processes and ensure a pleasant, productive experience for both candidates and hiring managers

Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment

Strong written and communication skills

Demonstrated professionalism and interpersonal skills

Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information

Strong organizational, analytical, time-management and multi-tasking skills

Enthusiastic and people oriented

Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software, HRIS, Google Suite and or Microsoft office applications

Self-starter, thrives in fast-paced environment and has a sense of humor

Entrepreneurial, business or start-up experience a plus

Position Details:

Full Time/non-exempt

Location: Remote, but must be located in one of the following states – NY, MA, RI, PA, DC, MD, VA, TX, CA, MO

Travel between sites is required at least twice a year.

Compensation:

The salary for Talent Associate ranges from $55-60k in accordance with BUILD’s equity focused salary bands. BUILD offers a competitive benefits package for eligible employees. This includes employer paid medical, dental & vision coverage, flexible spending accounts (FSA), employer paid life insurance, and a 403(b) plan with match. In addition, eligible BUILD employees qualify for generous vacation, sick, paid Federal holidays, and December 24 through January 1 off, a flexible work environment, professional development and additional stipends for stretch projects.
