Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION:
Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Project Manager – Special Projects to join the Merchandising team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters. Marc Jacobs International is part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) fashion division and operates in the wholesale and direct to consumer retail markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The primary function of the Project Manager is to ensure smooth process, clear communication, and execution of creative and operational deliverables throughout the product lifecycle.
- This person will work both cross-functionally within the company (design, product development, merchandising, retail, marketing) and with external partners starting when a collection or product is ideated all the way through to launch, ensuring that each department has their necessary information in various commercial stages.
- This person will maintain meticulous records of operational components including legal agreements, budget status, invoices paid, product status, creative details, and so on. They ensure execution of all requirements as agreed upon between partners from both a design and legal perspective, and partner closely with product merchants to ensure all business-related key facts are included in project documents.
- This person additionally works with the legal team to manage legal checklists and to-dos associated with collaborations. The legal team relies on this person to ensure requirements such as labels, packaging, credits, licensor approvals, etc. are being communicated internally and executed by appropriate MJ departments.
- Success depends on a high level of organization and strong ability to prioritize and follow-through. They must be comfortable with product development calendars, tracking macro and micro tasks, and collating detailed information from many internal and external sources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years experience working for fashion brand in a project management, product development or merchandising capacity
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills for internal and external audiences
- Highly organized with proven ability to both create and follow through on processes
- Ability to work independently, understanding next steps intuitively and spotting problems before they arise
- An understanding of the creative industry (fashion, art, music, magazines, movies, etc)
- Ability to prioritize most important topics and ensure all are prepared for cross-departmental meetings
- Experience using Microsoft Suite to make visually clear and informative documents
- Confidence speaking to senior members of the company and in front of an audience
- In compliance with the Order of New York City’s Commissioner of Health and Mental Hygiene to Require COVID-19 Vaccination in the Workplace, candidates will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination by their first day of employment.
