Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION:
Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks an Assistant – Print Design to join the RTW Design Team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters. Marc Jacobs International is part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) fashion division and operates in the wholesale and direct to consumer retail markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand Marc Jacobs and Heaven by Marc Jacobs aesthetic and translate it into appropriate product
- Develop graphics, prints, and embellishment through original work or purchased files, and color separate
- Create repeats of artwork and create colorway options
- Engineer and place artwork on patterns
- Create tech pack
- Comment on strike off and bulk approvals, while maintaining high quality standards
- Attend design meetings, take notes, and keep boards up to date
- Maintaining print, trims. Embellishment archives both digitally and physically
- Research the prints and the print application ideas
- Work proactively according to development calendar to stay ahead of timelines
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3 years Print Design experience
- High taste level
- Strong hand painting and drawing skills
- Excellent eye for color
- Strong ability to engineer prints on pattern and knowledge of garment construction
- High proficiency in illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong knowledge of print techniques and how to properly set up a file for each technique
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to change
- Extremely organized and detail orientated
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- In compliance with the Order of New York City’s Commissioner of Health and Mental Hygiene to Require COVID-19 Vaccination in the Workplace, candidates will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination by their first day of employment.
