Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy/corporate finance in a news organization or technology company.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- Experience in or passion for news.
- Experience with database querying, SQL coding, and analysis.
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, including financial modeling.
- Exceptional program management skills with complex, cross-functional, and global initiatives.
About the job
As the Strategy and Operations Senior Associate focused on the News Ecosystem, you will work closely with our news business teams to shape the future of news on YouTube. You will help scope and execute new models to bring high-quality news content to YouTube, enabling news content experiences for YouTube’s billions of users, and making news publishing more sustainable for the breadth of the world’s news organizations.
You will use your financial modeling skills to assess different business and partnership models, perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to understand the needs and key drivers of the news industry, serve as the program manager, and lead for a cross-functional working group across Business, Product, Marketing, Legal, Policy, and Finance and coordinate with global stakeholders.
You will be responsible for strategy, execution, and everything in between. You will design new strategies and programs, secure leadership and cross-functional approval for these ideas, then execute as the program manager.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the global news business team to scope new models to bring high-quality news content to YouTube.
- Own business case development for new initiatives. Develop financial models for the news team.
- Execute complex quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that translates data into actionable insights.
- Coordinate across a cross-functional YouTube team tasked with driving YouTube’s news products and programs worldwide.
- Partner with the product team to develop and launch products around the world that help elevate authoritative sources on the platform.
