Job description: Position Summary
Guggenheim Securities (“GS”) is seeking an experienced Vice President to join our Investment Banking team in New York. The Vice President will join our highly collaborative team responsible for providing advisory services to private equity firms and corporate clients with a strong emphasis on sell-side advisory engagements, primarily within selected technology and tech-enabled services markets. Vice Presidents will have the opportunity work across our sell-side M&A team, including with colleagues in Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago.

Essential Job Functions
- Lead day-to-day project management and oversee execution of pitches and transactions
- Act as financial and strategic advisor for clients of core accounts in conjunction with senior bankers
- Drive long-term client relationship development through effective dialogue with client leadership teams
- Develop and oversee financial analyses to support advisory transactions and highlight key takeaways
- Carefully review and provide guidance to junior banking teammates
- Underwrite transaction evaluation preparation due diligence and execution of transactions; and managing the preparation of marketing materials including teasers information memoranda and other transaction-related documentation
- Share relevant deal/client context with the junior team and provide motivation and guidance for the team
- Maintain working knowledge of multiple client sectors monitor key industry drivers and assemble insights to support and enhance advisory services and new business development initiatives
- Identify potential deal challenges and elevate concerns to senior bankers
- Lead client meetings and drafting sessions
- Drive idea generation and creation of strategic frameworks tools and intellectual property to aid business development activities of the firm
- Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete group tasks more efficiently
- Demonstrate understanding of macro factors related to client sectors and investment banking and potential implications
- Act as lead “on the job” trainer for associates and analysts articulating roles and objectives for junior team members and providing constructive feedback
- Ensure all activity is compliant with Guggenheim Securities’ applicable rules regulations policies and procedures
- Actively participate in recruiting and training activities
- Additional responsibilities as requested
Preferred Qualifications

- Teaching orientation with strong desire to mentor and train junior teammates—ability to be player-coach as needed
- Desire to join a rapidly growing entrepreneurial platform
- Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 7+ years of professional experience
- 4+ years of prior investment banking or equivalent M&A experience
- Sell-side advisory experience
- SIE Exam Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment
