Job description: Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
-A Baccalaureate Degree in engineering, architecture,
construction management or related field,
-Experience in reading and following construction drawings and
specifications;
-Strong computer skills including MS Office applications
-Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License for New York
State
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with design and of building systems, envelopes,
mechanical systems;
-Experience as a construction project manager or superintendent,
planning and directing construction activities
-Experience managing construction budgets, reviewing cost –
proposals and change order requests
-Budget estimating and project scheduling skills (including related
software);
-Specification writing experience;
AutoCAD 2008 (or higher) and/or REVIT software proficiency;
-Bluebeam Revu proficiency
-Specific training, certifications or working knowledge of NYS
Building; Codes, National Electrical Code and other NFPA
standards;
-Experience developing projects from concept through
construction;
-Professional license in engineering or architecture
-PMP or certified construction manager certification
-Code Enforcement Official (CEO) certification or similar codes
training
Duties Description -Represent key stakeholders including faculty, students and staff
in developing and prioritizing renovation work for existing
facilities and for new building construction projects.
-Work with the State University Construction Fund (SUCF), Office
of General Services (OGS), engineering, architectural and
specialty consultants, contractors, applicable state or regulatory
agencies. Ensure that related planning and construction activities are meeting the goals and objectives of the College.
-Be familiar with NYS Building Codes, environmental regulations
and construction of higher education facilities.
-Coordinate with campus purchasing office and outside vendors
to follow NYS purchasing guidelines for bidding and award of campus let contracts.
-Perform project administration activities including-create and
monitor construction schedules, inspect work in place for
compliance with contract, maintain project records, evaluating
construction costs of various work, review payment applications
and project budgets, close-out activities.
-Complete required field investigations and document program
needs and scope of projects under consideration.
-Review Change order and field order requests for validity and
cost
Construction Representative concentrated efforts are on minimizing the negative impacts of construction on the operation of the campus, are able to plan and anticipate potential problems and work toward prevention while maintaining communication with all stakeholders. Attends job meetings, reviews documents, produces meeting minutes, and confirms accuracy of minutes of project meetings. This position will require strong oral and written communication skills. Occasional travel to college properties as needed.
