"Shabbat Shalom" by Steve Wiggins

“I wrote the song, Shabbat Shalom, while sitting by the swimming pool at Kibbutz Almog. Almog is on the West Bank border between Israel and Jordan, and (while I was staying there) housed young Israeli soldiers training to become border guards. As we sat by the pool, talking with these soldiers, it dawned on me that Shabbat was approaching and my “peace” and “rest” were largely due to the fact that these individuals were vigilantly keeping watch for anyone trying to do harm. It also reminded me of how God watches over us. No matter how desperately the “enemy” seeks to destroy us, thru various means, it helps to remember: Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world!” www.stevewigginsmusic.com
