SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Assist the Director of Construction Management in the Major Capital Projects (MCP) Group to support the Construction of the Mega Projects (Penn Station Access (PSA), Conn River Bridge, East River Tunnel (ERT) Rehab, Gateway, NYSDOT Road Projects, and Projects in Penn Station.) within the MCP Group.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible to coordinate Amtrak F/A support of Amtrak Contractor and/or Third Party Contractor.
- Monitor, Construction activity, and be the Technical Point of Contact with Contractor.
- Monitor, Cm Consultant activity, and be the Technical Point of Contact with CM Consultant.
- Review Contractor and CM Consultant invoices.
- Perform Safety Audits.
- Attend project meeting.
- Lead weekly Construction status meeting.
- Perform ancillary Construction Management activity. (i.e., review RFIs, schedule, NCRs et al)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge of Construction in a Railroad environment, Amtrak or other railroad.
- Knowledge of railroad operations.
- Knowledge of scheduling, budgeting and estimating.
- Eight (8) years’ experience in Project Management and/or Construction Management.
- Shall be computer literate and have good written and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Amtrak BMWE, ARASA, IBEW, IAM labor agreements.
- Knowledge of FRA regulations and NORAC.
- Supervisory experience a plus.
- CCM and PMP certification a plus.
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Position may require night and Weekend shifts.
- Position is subject to call out 24/7.
This position is a tiered position. Incumbents will have a position level assigned based on their skills and experience, and in alignment with position development plans. Position placement is at Amtrak’s sole and absolute discretion.
