NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health (formerly Coney Island Hospital), located in Southern Brooklyn, accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.
We are currently accepting applications and referrals for a full-time Obstetrics and Gynecology Generalist Physician to work in our OB/GYN department.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct obstetric and gynecologic care to patients, including ambulatory care clinics, in-patient services, and on-call coverage nights and weekends.
- Provide gynecological surgical care to patients, including minimally invasive techniques.
- Provide generalist obstetric and gynecologic care to patients.
- Provide supervision and teaching to Fellows, Residents and Medical Students, including didactic sessions.
- Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement activities, as directed by department leadership.
- 40 hours per week, 8a – 4p.
Qualifications
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Possess or eligible for a New York State Medical License
- Laproscopic skills
- Experience with minimally invasive surgery (or training)
- Experience or training in robotic surgery
- Interest in teaching
- Russian fluency a plus, language skills in Chinese (mandarin) and Hebrew also helpful
- Cultural sensitivity to a diverse and under-served patient population a must
