We are looking for a talented BIM & Computational Designer to join us in various locations in our US Region. We have offices in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, San Diego, San Francisco.
Working alongside innovative and award-winning colleagues on high profile projects in the US such as the Academy Museum of Motion Picture Arts, Mercedes Benz Stadium, and the American Museum of Natural History, you will have the opportunity to leave your own unique mark on our incredible project portfolio.
The ideal candidate would work on the cutting edge of BIM & Computation, solving design and process challenges using Autodesk Revit, Dynamo and associated digital tools.

The BIM & Computational Designer will be responsible for developing automation and clash detection skills among the technical team, as well as using Dynamo to streamline production processes, and exploring software platforms to discover new chances for innovation.

What are we looking for?
- Being an expert in BIM modelling through the Autodesk Revit platform with a good knowledge of Revit MEP
- Responsible for BIM project set ups, coordinating team BIM kick offs, understanding, and implementing BIM Execution plans.
- Audit and review project BIM models.
- Providing BIM modelling support to the engineering team on a wide range of projects to accurately illustrate engineering design solutions.
- Manage the use of BIM Modelling software to support engineers engaged in analysis and production work related to the design of various building types
- Develop and maintain Revit content libraries through the creation of families and learning documentation standards
- Create computational solutions to complex engineering problems via visual programming
- Contribute to our open-source coding platform BHoM (bhom.xyz)
- Actively review emerging technologies and industry wide BIM design applications
- Participate in the input of geometry and data into BIM models
- Carrying out clash investigation and visual walkthroughs using tools such as Navisworks and BIM 360 Model Coordinate, reporting to the design team by way of regular project coordination workshops
- Delivering ongoing Revit training to all technical staff
- Technical authoring and detailed production of design documentation
- Managing the delivery and quality control process for 2d and 3d design deliverables
- Trouble shooting and technical support to the engineering team during the development of models/drawings
- QA pre issue and QA post issue construction documents to ensure they uphold BuroHappold’ s design standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across a global practice
- Developing visual programming scripts to augment and enhance our BIM processes
Who you are:
- You will need to have a proven track record of BIM & excellence in design and production. An in-depth knowledge of the latest BIM standards and workflows is considered essential.
- A good knowledge of visual programming tools such as Dynamo
- High proficiency in Revit and Revit development frameworks with the capability of training staff
- 3+ experience working in a studio or consultancy environment
- 3+ years’ experience in BIM platforms
- Bachelor’s in architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
- Possess to work well as part of a team and independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
