Job description: Person for this position has to live in New York State, preferably in the Capitol District.
Responsible for tracking new sales, managing day to day activities of staff and monitoring work load to ensure effective account management and account retention for a book of business. Responsible for creation, maintenance, and revision to operating procedures, processes and forms as well as identifying and meeting training needs to support new program up-sell opportunities. Also responsible for managing and retaining an assigned book of business for the company’s products and services in order to achieve profitable retention of accounts.
- Develops and maintains a strategic business plan that fully reflects customer’s business objectives and how our solutions align with those objectives.
- Supports up-sell and renewal activities across assigned account(s).
- Communicates and updates account service information to appropriate internal staff.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Cost of Care and implications internally and for the client.
- Demonstrates and implements strategic profitable products or services and explains the dynamics facing managed care in the current market.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of the company’s products and services and how multiple products and services are interdependent within the customer contract deliverables and clinical outcomes. Maintains in-depth knowledge of client organization.
- Develops and maintains multi-level relationships within client organizations which includes maintaining day to day interface with the customer’s main point of contact(s).
- Develops strong internal relationships and contacts within the company that are supportive of the achievement of customer service requirements including attainment of performance guarantees and minimization of performance penalty expense.
- Effectively explains or uses technology (internally and externally) for customers.
- Ensures performance standards are measurable and realistic to achieve and/or exceed to avoid penalties. Partners with Operations and Network on monitoring. Manages methodology, reporting and communications.
- Ensures revenue goals are met, cost of care and administrative expenses are managed and segment profit targets are achieved for assigned account(s).
- Ensures Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance.
- Provides high level consultation to customers, including fiscal management support.
- Resolves or appropriately escalates customer service issues in conjunction with operations (claims, service, and systems).
- Understands about the company’s business and operational decisions to predict impacts on customer.
Other Job Requirements
Responsibilities 5+ years of account management experience; 3+ years’ direct supervisory experience.
Will substitute an additional 3 or more years of account management, sales or marketing experience in lieu of a formal degree.
Based on client contract, may require clinical licensure in good standing (RN, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, Pharmacist) for state in which work is performed.
Ability to expresses ideas, recommendations and solutions clearly, logically and concisely in written, verbal and presentation formats.
Demonstrated understanding of price/cost relationships.
Contract Management including implementation management, defining a value proposition for clients and stakeholders and managing renewals.
Experience and knowledge of evaluation of outcome, process management, project management, program management.
Knowledge and understanding of management principles, practice, methods and techniques.
Knowledge of performance motivation and performance management towards outcomes.
Sales skills are essential, including presentation skills and how to prospect and RFP management.
Developing positive rapport with consultants and brokers.
Skilled in analytics, data management and management reporting.
Skilled in customer specific strategic planning and developing a long range plan for retention/growth.
Strong networking skills, organizational skills, problem solving, flexibility/versatility.
