Institute, and faculty appointments in both the Department of Neuroscience and the Department of Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

We are looking for scientists addressing important questions in neuroimmunology, including both basic and translational scientists working on the central and peripheral neuroimmune interface.

The successful candidate will join a large group of neuroscientists and neurologists and will associate with the Corinne Goldsmith Dickinson (CGD) Center for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a world-renowned multiple sclerosis center in the Department of Neurology. The ten full-time MS specialists and a multi-disciplinary team at the CGD Center care for 4,000 unique patients with over 7,500 patient visits annually. CGD Center faculty are clinician-scientists with research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Defense, the National MS Society, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, other foundations, and industry. The candidate will join a highly productive research environment where multiple studies that include specimen banking are currently underway, providing numerous opportunities for new collaborations. The candidate will be affiliated with the broader neuroscience community under the Friedman Brain Institute with over 250 associated tenure track faculty that perform cutting edge basic and clinical neuroscience research. The candidate will also join an outstanding team of immunologists with leading expertise in a broad range of areas, including innate immunity, immune-genomics, allergy, microbiome, cancer, inflammatory disease, and immunotherapy.

Position Qualifications:

  • PhD or MD/PhD
  • A track record of, or potential for, basic and/or translational research and a vision for establishing a program of basic and/or translational research in neuro-immunology
  • A strong work ethic and capability for effective collaboration in multi-disciplinary research
